I started writing these book when I was 18 and I had just woken up from a coma that was the result of a car running into me at a red light. My parents were talked to about end of life arrangements for me. Since then I have been back to the scene of my accident and the place where I was hit was at the bottom of a very steep hill. When I was in the scariest part of my injury, I had no idea where I was, so naturally I assumed that I was in a dream. I've found that I can still think like that whenever I'm in a situation that I don't particularly like. I grew up on an island off the coast of Maine. It was a very small island when I was growing up, only about 1200 people year round, it's grown a bit since I was in high school. I have written another book that is in the process of getting edited by my publisher right now. It will be published this year I believe. It is going to be about the recovery that I have been trying to do, there is really no time limit on that so I will probably be recovering for the rest of my life. But I am a lot better today than I was when I was in the hospital, it's interesting to have something like this happen to you so early in adulthood. It adds to the excitement of it all!
